The mission of the RSD and Jefferson Music Department is to advance music education by encouraging the study and making of music by all. Music encourages us to become critical thinkers, passionate learners, and responsible members of society. We preserve our cultural heritages, and also explore the realms of expression, imagination, and creation resulting in new knowledge. Therefore, every student is guaranteed the opportunity to learn music and share in musical experiences!
Students will engage with music through singing, playing and moving, reading and writing, performing and editing, and listening and evaluating!
