Student Spotlight: Jefferson Elementary's Isla Fowler

Isla Fowler says fourth-grade was tough.

Then, over the summer, she decided fifth-grade was going to be different.

She’s become one of her teacher’s biggest classroom helpers and has committed herself to being kind, reaching out to students on the playground who look lonely and just need someone to talk to.

As for math? It’s one of her favorite subjects.

“Now I just breathe and try and do it,” Isla says. “This is going to be the best year ever.”
